Advanced Water Purifying Methods for Your Home

The quality of the water we drink or use for cooking, bathing, washing and so on can seriously be affected by a great number of contaminants and pollutants that can pose danger to our health. The local water supply network is not as safe as it used to be and so, the need to find proper ways to purify the water has lead to the development of different water purifying methods. The main purpose of these methods is to ensure the safety of those who use them, so if you want to know more about them, we will present you here some advanced water purifying methods for your home.

Carbon Water Filtration

The carbon water filtration is among the most common methods used to purify the water and it’s used to remove the impurities found in the water, including sediments and chemicals. The carbon technology is found in many available water filtration systems and, usually the systems use either blocks of carbon or granulated carbon. The result is that the water will be perfectly clean, with no taste or odor, which makes this method very efficient in delivering healthy water. However, the carbon water filtration isn’t capable of removing the microbes and germs from the water.

UV Water Filtration

Another type of water purification is the UV filtration, which is a more advanced technology that uses UV light to kill the bacteria and microbes in water and to stop their ability to reproduce. However, this type of filtration doesn’t eliminate the salt and the remaining dissolved solids, and it’s usually recommended for filtered water, so combining a carbon water filter with a UV filter many offer great results.

Water Ionization

Through the process of water ionization, the water will be concentrated into two streams: alkaline and acidic. This is possible by splitting the water molecule into H+ and OH–. The pH of the alkaline water ranges from 8.0 to 11.0, while the acidic water ranges from 6.0 to 3.0 pH. This process is possible with the help of an alkaline ionized water machine that is installed at home and this method is considered to be very efficient in removing toxins and contaminants. The water ionizing machine turns tap water into alkaline water through an electrolysis process that removes chemicals as well and increased the acidity of the water to ensure a better hydration.

Reverse Osmosis Filtration

The reverse osmosis water purification method is very popular and this technology is used to remove the impurities and contaminants found in water. The semi-permeable membrane found in reverse osmosis filters is able to retain all the existing chemicals while allowing the water to pass through. The promising success rate of this system is up to 99% and the size of the semi-permeable membrane is approximately .0005 micron. However, the reverse osmosis filtration can also remove the minerals, which is not quite an advantage.
